Before you go on a vacation to Scottsdale Arizona, we would like to give you a brief intro on that place. We hope it helps you to be abreast about the place you are visiting. So here are some facts of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Scottsdale is a part of Maricopa County, Arizona. It is home to a population of over 200,000 people as per 2000 census. Though located close to the desert, it happens to be amongst the most expensive places to live in western part of the United States, so much so that it has eaned the epithet ‘Snotsdale’! Though it is dotted with fashionable houses in the nieighborhooods, there are quite few middle-class neighborhoods too.

Located east of Phoenix, Scottsdale was voted the most livable city by the US Confenrence of Mayors in 1993. In fact, many well-to-do people have made this city their home after retirement. The closest major airport is the Sky Harbor International Airport which is in fact located in Phoenix. Scottsdale has a mini-airport with a small run-away facility.

The town has shooping malls which would some major cities proud. Scottdsale Fashoin Square is the place where the gliteerati throng. Nightlife is very active here with many bars, bistros and cafes serving up to the wee hours of the morning

Are you planning a visit to Scottsdale, Arizona in the near future? It’s a great place to be in this part of the year. In February 2005, Scottsdale, Arizona has some exciting events lined up. Here are some of them.

Starting on February 5th is the Parada del Sol Parade. Being held on Scottsdale road on the path from Oak Street to Indian School Road, the parade features cowboy activities with horses, dancing floats etc.    

Trucks and tiny trips is an event for toddlers aged between 2 and 5 years. They get to actually witness fire trucks whizzing past them with sirens and all other frills. 

Have you always wanted to chance your arms at golf, but backed out due various reasons, then Scottsdale golf clinic will give you a beginner’s course. The venue is The Tournament Players Club of Scottsdale. The classes beginning on Saturday, Feb. 12 will teach you short game, basics of full swing etc. by trained pros of ESPN. There are separate clinics for juniors.

Family fun factor event is to be hosted on Saturday, Feb. 12, Pima Park. This free event is hoisting fun activities for the whole family. Relay races and food challenges will be held as a part of this event. This is just a fun event to facilitate a family’s day out.
